Crushing and sizing of materials

In the mineral processing industry, in order to beneficiation and remove wastes, the materials must be crushed and sizing to a certain extent. After crushing, minerals are transferred to the concentrate circuit for the beneficiation process. In concentration circuits, according to the type and mineralogical conditions of the mineral, different separation methods are used, such as physical, chemical and physico-chemical methods. Among the most important physical methods, we can mention gravity, magnetic (wet and dry) and electrostatic methods.

Magnetic separation

Magnetic separation method has the highest efficiency and application in ore processing, especially iron ore. This method is used for a wide range of minerals with different properties of ferromagnetism (magnetite, titanomagnetite, etc.) and paramagnetism (hematite, goethite, chromite, pyrolusite, etc.).

Flotation method

Among the important physical-chemical methods, we can mention the flotation method, which is used to process various metallic and non-metallic minerals, especially the sulphide type and recently the oxide type, for further beneficiation and also to remove important impurities in iron ore processing, such as phosphorus, sulfur. , silica, etc. mentioned.

Gravitational separation

This method is based on physical properties such as the difference in the specific gravity of valuable substances from impurities. Among the equipment available in this method, we can refer to all kinds of jigs, vibrating tables, Humphrey spirals, heavy media cyclones, paddle classifiers and spirals, etc.

Leaching method

One of the most important chemical methods is the leaching method, which is widely used for the processing industry of oxide minerals, especially copper, lead, zinc, gold, aluminum, etc.
